The Eccotemp 40HI-LP is the indoor equivalent to the Eccotemp 40H tankless water heater. The Eccotemp 40HI-LP Tankless Water Heater is designed to supply hot water to a standard three bedroom, two bathroom home. This Eccotemp tankless water heater is an ideal choice for retrofitting your old storage tank heater, or can be plumbed in a new location. In addition, the Eccotemp 40HI-LP tankless water heater is powered by liquid propane which generally carries a lower operating cost than similar electric units and has an energy factor (EF) of 0.82.

Rated at an already impressive 6.3 GPM, the Eccotemp 40HI-LP is also a split system adaptable which can further increase efficiency and hot water delivery speed. With built-in pressure relief filter system and a 10 year warranty, the Eccotemp 40Hi-LP tankless hot water heater is the ideal choice for a standard sized home.

3" Horizontal Stainless Steel Z-Vent Wall Hung Water Heater Vent Kit for Eccotemp 40HI-LP and 40HI-NG models.  It also works Paloma/Rheem models: RTG-42, RTG-53, PTG-42, PH-1, PH-20.  This vent kit is supplied with all the necessary components for a quick and seamless installation.  It includes the following pieces:

 

  • (1) Termination Hood with backflow preventer
  • (1) 3" x 90 Degree Elbow
  • (1) 3" x 1' Pipe
  • (1) 3" x 1.5' Pipe
  • (1) 3" Wall Thimble
  • (1) 3" Appliance Adapter

Made of AL-294C stainless steel.  This is Category II/III approved

Attention*** If you add a Vertical vent kit to this order here is the information

The 3" or 4" Z-Flex Vertical vent kit is for vertical installations of indoor water heaters using 3" fittings, such as the Eccotemp 40HI, or 4" for some Paloma and Rheem models. It will also work with many boilers.  You will need to purchase additional Z-Vent straight pipe. You will need to determine how many additional feet as well as condensation drains and back flow preventers.  Please click here for more information on the parts, pieces and requirements that you will need.

  • 1 x 3" Top support/Storm collar
  • 1 x 3" Adjustable roof flashing (specify either normal or steep flashing)

9-2-2011 installed our new Eccotemp 40HI-LP tankless hot water heater. VERY satisfied with the unit which works just as well as our Bosch on the other end of the house which cost almost twice as much 8 years ago and is $1,100 now! Purchased from www.energystead.com for $429. I was planning on buying a Rinnai but found many complaints about customer service and support online. Bosch "support" is non existent. I was able to reach a real live English speaking American when I called Eccotemp with no horrid computer menu to wade through!!!! The owner of Eccotemp is a genius because I HATE dealing with companies with call centers ANYWHERE but America! Even the guys distributer has great service! I called and left a message with energystead and they called me back a couple of hours later AFTER 5!!!! Now that's commitment to customers!!!Cut 5 million off the CEO of Rinnai and they could have afforded proper customer support and this would have been a Rinnai video! This sealed the deal for me, the pricing is an added bonus and is MUCH more in line with a mass produced fairly simple piece of equipment!So, save some money and buy the Eccotemp, you won't be sorry!!!A final note, don't get cheap and use class "B" vent...spring for the proper stainless vent, install it correctly and sleep well knowing your family is safe! It took MORE time and money to install the vent...so bear that in mind and plan properly!Oh, PPS, don't forget your TPR valve!You will need fairly proficient plumbing skills to switch your water heater. If in doubt, call a pipefitter, they are pros and will fix you up!
